Following early retirement in 1992 Rae studied Fine Art at Hereford College.
Her interest lies in abstraction, using a variety of techniques: painting, collage, print and mixed media.
She often draws on methods used in photography, particularly enlarging, cropping,
and creating strong tonal contrasts between shapes
Rae shows her work locally, but has also exhibited in Birmingham, Hereford, London, Newtown,and Shrewsbury.
In 2004 she founded 'Abstract Edge', a group of artists with similar interests in abstraction.
